How to be Permanently Joyful Despite the Pain and Problems of Life (Gospel Light Minute X #400)

This is the “chief of sinners,” Daniel Whyte III, president of Gospel Light Society International, with the Gospel Light Minute X Podcast #400 titled, “How to be Permanently Joyful Despite the Pain and Problems of Life.” I’m here to remind you of what the Bible says, that “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” like you and me.

Pharrell’s famous song “Happy” may give you a feeling of momentary happiness while you are listening to it, but it will not keep you happy. For most people happiness depends on the happenings.

Are you a happy person? Fear and the guilt of sin can take away your happiness. You may wonder, “How can I be permanently happy? or, how can I be permanently cheerful and joyful?” The Holy Bible has a lot to say about having permanent joyfulness and cheerfulness even in the midst of pain and problems. How to Understand Salvation Through Jesus Christ (Gospel Light Minute X #385)

This is the “chief of sinners,” Daniel Whyte III, president of Gospel Light Society International, with the Gospel Light Minute X Podcast #385 titled, “How to Understand Salvation Through Jesus Christ.” I’m here to remind you of what the Bible says, that “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” like you and me.

UNDERSTAND THAT THERE IS ONLY ONE SAVIOUR
My friend, are you saved? Saved is a Bible word, not a term thought up by man. I have been a Christian for almost twenty years, and I find that most people still do not have an understanding of God’s message of salvation.

First, you must believe there is one true God. Secondly, you must believe that God can do something for you, and He has recorded His plan of redemption in the Bible. The only God that can save souls is the God of the Bible. His Name is the Lord Jesus Christ. The Bible says in Acts 4:12, “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”

A person is saved by putting their complete trust in Jesus Christ, not by doing something to earn Heaven. Trusting is believing. Believing must come from the heart, not the head. Do you love and trust your spouse with your head or with your heart?

Plato, Aristotle, or Einstein could only think as far as their finite minds were able. They could not even solve the problems of this life, such as sickness, disease, pain, hunger, and death, let alone know anything about eternity. God knew we needed something to go by, so He put everything there is to know in His Bible. Continue reading “How to Understand Salvation Through Jesus Christ (Gospel Light Minute X #385)”

Jesus Knows All About Your Troubles and Problems, So Come to Him Today (Gospel Light Minute X #374)

LIFE IS HARD. Jesus knows that. He is God’s Son and He left heaven to rescue you. As a man He endured all the hardships common to humanity. Although He never sinned, He endured pain, loneliness, rejection and death. At the end of His ministry, He offered Himself as a sacrifice and died on the cross to atone, once and for all, for the sins of humanity. God raised Him from the grave and Jesus now reigns in Heaven. He is alive. And He cares for you. Continue reading “Jesus Knows All About Your Troubles and Problems, So Come to Him Today (Gospel Light Minute X #374)”

How to Understand What the Purple Prince Referred to as “This Thing Called Life” (Gospel Light Minute X #368)

This is the “chief of sinners,” Daniel Whyte III, president of Gospel Light Society International, with the Gospel Light Minute X Podcast #368 titled, “How to Understand What the Purple Prince Referred to as ‘This Thing Called Life’.” I’m here to remind you of what the Bible says, that “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” like you and me.

We are all aware of problems in this world. Everyone knows what it is to be weary, to be disappointed, and to struggle. And we have a feeling that we were not meant for this. We are all searching for some solution to the problems of life.

The question is, why are you unhappy? Why do things go wrong? Why is there illness and sickness? Why should there be death? Those are the questions with which the Bible deals.

The Bible talks to you about your unhappiness. Some insist that the Bible, far from being practical, is really very remote from life. But nothing in the world is as practical as the teaching of the Bible.

In order to answer questions about you, the Bible starts in the most extraordinary way:

“In the beginning God…” Continue reading “How to Understand What the Purple Prince Referred to as “This Thing Called Life” (Gospel Light Minute X #368)”

This is a One-Way Street (Gospel Light Minute X #362)

This is the “chief of sinners,” Daniel Whyte III, president of Gospel Light Society International, with the Gospel Light Minute X Podcast #362 titled, “This is a One-Way Street .” I’m here to remind you of what the Bible says, that “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” like you and me.

The Word of God, the Bible, tells you that God knows all about you. He knows where you live, He knows your name, He even knows the thoughts and the secrets of your heart. “The Lord looketh on the heart.”

Yes, God knows all about you. He knows the good and bad things in your life. All the bad things are sin. To disobey is to sin. No one has to tell us how to be bad, we just are bad. The Word of God says in Romans 3:23, “…All have sinned, and come short of the glory of God”. You see, you are a sinner and God says in Romans 6:23, “The wages of sin is death”. This death means to be separated from God and suffer in Hell for ever and ever.

Is there anything you can do to get rid of your sin by yourself? God says in Ephesians 2:8-9, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast”. There is only one way to be saved, one way to have your sins forgiven. Continue reading “This is a One-Way Street (Gospel Light Minute X #362)”

How to Quench Your Thirst in Life (Gospel Light Minute X #360)

This is the “chief of sinners,” Daniel Whyte III, president of Gospel Light Society International, with the Gospel Light Minute X Podcast #360 titled, “How to Quench Your Thirst in Life.” I’m here to remind you of what the Bible says, that “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” like you and me.

Happiness, contentment, and peace of mind are the most longed-for and sought after things in all the world, and few there are who ever really find them. All around us people are searching madly for these precious treasures without success. Psychiatrists tell us that an ever-increasing number of people are aware of an inner emptiness in their lives. Their problems — personal and social — seem to increase faster than solutions can be found to solve them.

Is this all simply evidence of the emptiness of those who try to live without God? Man’s struggle for wealth, fame, and pleasure will not bring him the contentment and happiness that he yearns for. Yet, with a restlessness that is pitiful to see, people are searching from one thing to another, always hoping to find rest and satisfaction in some future accomplishment or possession. How to be Delivered from Evil

Sunday Evening Evangelistic Message #120

TEXT: Matthew 6:6-13

There is much talk today about deliverance. Even churches put the word “deliverance” in their names. People are searching for deliverance from many things; things such as: a bad marriage, an unhappy home life, drug addiction, addiction to pornography, alcoholism, sicknesses, depression, homosexuality, and the list could go on.

People are so desperate for deliverance that they are turning to anyone and anything for it: psychics, doctors, psychologists, counselors, and television talk show hosts. Some people are willing to relocate, to adopt a new lifestyle, or to leave their families to get deliverance from whatever they are facing. And, sadly, some people even try to get deliverance through suicide.

But, what is true deliverance? True, biblical deliverance is when God supernaturally steps in to a situation and delivers a person or a group of people out of a predicament that is humanly impossible for them to be delivered from. After the deliverance, no matter how one looks at it, only God can get the credit. When you get deliverance from God, you will sing like the old saints, “If it had not been for the Lord, who was on my side…”

Some examples of true, biblical deliverance are: the Israelites leaving Egypt in a mass exodus of an entire nation; the preservation of the nation of Israel through their 40 year wilderness wandering; Paul and Silas being delivered from jail by an earthquake; and Peter’s deliverance from prison by an angel. However, sometimes, God will use a human agent as his means of deliverance. He will place a person in your life at just the right time and place to work on God’s behalf for your deliverance.

Now that we know what we are talking about when we talk about deliverance, allow me to share with you three key points about true deliverance. We all have things that we need to be delivered from, and those things can be classified in two major categories.

1. First of all, we need spiritual deliverance. That is, we need deliverance from sin, temptation, and the devil. When Jesus showed the disciples how to pray, he told them to pray, “Lord, lead us not into temptation.” And of all the people who can deliver us from sin and temptation, the Lord is certainly the one we need to call on to do that. Second Peter 2:9 says, “The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations…”

2. Secondly, in this life, we need physical deliverance. This is the kind of deliverance we need from circumstances and situations beyond our control. The disciples were also to pray, Lord, “deliver us from evil.” In the Bible, the word “evil” not only means spiritual evil, but also refers to physical destruction, calamity, hardship, or death. All of these things are considered to be “evil” that we ought to want to be delivered from.

3. We must choose to allow God to deliver us from the problems we face. Notice the third part of this section of the Lord’s prayer that we are looking at today: The disciples are taught to pray, “For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory.”
