How a Key Principle of Karate Helps You Understand Getting Your Soul Saved From Hell Through Jesus Christ (Gospel Light Minute X #389)

This is the “chief of sinners,” Daniel Whyte III, president of Gospel Light Society International, with the Gospel Light Minute X Podcast #389 titled, “How a Key Principle of Karate Helps You Understand Getting Your Soul Saved From Hell Through Jesus Christ.” I’m here to remind you of what the Bible says, that “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” like you and me.

Most people are familiar with Karate, a martial arts form of self-defense. Its origin dates back many centuries ago, when Chinese monks developed Kung Fu. In the 1600s, this system of self-defense was imported to the tiny island nation of Okinawa. Under the dominion of the Japanese Samurai, all weapons were banned to keep the people of Okinawa in subjection. For protection from their oppressors, the native people learned to use their farm tools as weapons, and over time perfected Chinese boxing into its present form we know as Karate.

The creed of all true Karate practitioners is this: I come to you with only karate, empty hands. I have no weapons, but should I be forced to defend myself, my principles, or my honor, be it a matter of life or death, right or wrong, then here are my weapons, karate, my empty hands.

This  reminds me of the way of salvation through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. You see, the word “karate” literally means ‘empty hands’. The way of Karate (Karate-do[doe]) is the way for salvation. It Sounds Arrogant, But You Really Are “The Master of Your Fate” (Gospel Light Minute X #388)

This is the “chief of sinners,” Daniel Whyte III, president of Gospel Light Society International, with the Gospel Light Minute X Podcast #388 titled, “It Sounds Arrogant, But You Really Are ‘The Master of Your Fate’.” I’m here to remind you of what the Bible says, that “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” like you and me.

These haunting and thought-provoking words were written by the nineteenth century poet William Ernest Henley in a poem entitled “INVICTUS”. Henley was well known at the time in England, but, is best known today for the last line of this poem, which was written from a hospital bed as he suffered with tuberculosis. This line has been quoted in books, movies, and tattooed by many. It was quoted by Winston Churchill, Ashleigh Brilliant, and many people give Nelson Mandela credit for this phrase because he quoted it so often.

The words seem almost arrogant and defiant. However, if you will just think about it for a minute, these words are, oh, so true. You really are master of your own fate and the captain of your own soul. Continue reading “It Sounds Arrogant, But You Really Are “The Master of Your Fate” (Gospel Light Minute X #388)”

Are You Drinking Yet Still Thirsty For More? (Gospel Light Minute X #386)

This is the “chief of sinners,” Daniel Whyte III, president of Gospel Light Society International, with the Gospel Light Minute X Podcast #386 titled, “Are You Drinking Yet Still Thirsty For More?” I’m here to remind you of what the Bible says, that “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” like you and me.

ARE YOU THIRSTY?
Have you ever been so thirsty that you can’t imagine going one more second without something to quench your thirst? All that you can think about is finding even one sip of cold, refreshing water. Our bodies crave water. In fact, the human body can only survive a few days without it.

How about your soul—is it thirsty? Do you feel that something is missing in your life? Maybe you’ve tried to fill the void by staying busy with work or friends. Perhaps you’ve sought satisfaction in buying new things. Some even try to quench their inner thirst with relationships, parties, alcohol, or drugs. How to Understand Salvation Through Jesus Christ (Gospel Light Minute X #385)

This is the “chief of sinners,” Daniel Whyte III, president of Gospel Light Society International, with the Gospel Light Minute X Podcast #385 titled, “How to Understand Salvation Through Jesus Christ.” I’m here to remind you of what the Bible says, that “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” like you and me.

UNDERSTAND THAT THERE IS ONLY ONE SAVIOUR
My friend, are you saved? Saved is a Bible word, not a term thought up by man. I have been a Christian for almost twenty years, and I find that most people still do not have an understanding of God’s message of salvation.

First, you must believe there is one true God. Secondly, you must believe that God can do something for you, and He has recorded His plan of redemption in the Bible. The only God that can save souls is the God of the Bible. His Name is the Lord Jesus Christ. The Bible says in Acts 4:12, “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”

A person is saved by putting their complete trust in Jesus Christ, not by doing something to earn Heaven. Trusting is believing. Believing must come from the heart, not the head. Do you love and trust your spouse with your head or with your heart?

Plato, Aristotle, or Einstein could only think as far as their finite minds were able. They could not even solve the problems of this life, such as sickness, disease, pain, hunger, and death, let alone know anything about eternity. God knew we needed something to go by, so He put everything there is to know in His Bible. Continue reading “How to Understand Salvation Through Jesus Christ (Gospel Light Minute X #385)”

You May be a Faithful Member of a Church, But on Your Way to Hell (Gospel Light Minute X #384 with Daniel Whyte III)

This is the “chief of sinners,” Daniel Whyte III, president of Gospel Light Society International, with the Gospel Light Minute X Podcast #384 titled, “You May be a Faithful Member of a Church, But on Your Way to Hell.” I’m here to remind you of what the Bible says, that “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” like you and me.

How clear and concise: there should be neither confusion nor contradiction. There are many names under Heaven in which we can find religion; but salvation can be found in One only. The Bible says in Romans 3:23, “For all have sinned…” So, all need a Saviour; Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” At Calvary, Jesus paid sin’s awful penalty for all who accept Him; but His death there was not to give men a religion; it was to provide Salvation through redemption.

There is no salvation in priests, penance or prayers; but only in Jesus Christ. Service and sacraments, churches and charities, tears and treasures, ritual and reformation — ALL are alike, helpless to save.

Men are willing to give assent in their heads to the claims of Christianity while refusing to accept in their hearts the Christ of Christianity, Jesus.

Men are willing to take the high place in the work and rituals of the church while refusing to take the low place of guilty sinners needing a sinner’s Saviour, Jesus.

Men are willing to believe in the moral precepts of God’s Word, as based on the Ten Commandments while refusing to believe in, rest on, and receive God’s Son, Jesus Christ, as Saviour of their souls, because of His finished work in their behalf at Calvary. How to be Saved According to Barry the Saint (Gospel Light Minute X #382)

DOGS CAN DO REMARKABLE THINGS!

One breed in particular, the St. Bernard, is known for saving lives. In the rugged, snow-covered mountains of the Alps, St. Bernards were ideal for rescue work because they could clear paths, predict incoming avalanches, and detect injured people buried beneath the snow. Only Bad People Go to Heaven and Many Good People Go to Hell (Gospel Light Minute X #380)

This is the “chief of sinners,” Daniel Whyte III, president of Gospel Light Society International, with the Gospel Light Minute X Podcast #380 titled, “Only Bad People Go to Heaven and Many Good People Go to Hell” I’m here to remind you of what the Bible says, that “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” like you and me.

Do good people go to Heaven?

Yes, they certainly would go to Heaven… if there were any people good enough!

People often say, “If I do the best I can and treat everyone fairly, I’ll go to Heaven.” But have any of us done the best we can or treated everyone fairly?

A religious leader in the Bible once asked Jesus Christ: “Master, which is the great commandment in the law?”

Without hesitation Jesus answered, “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.” Continue reading “Only Bad People Go to Heaven and Many Good People Go to Hell (Gospel Light Minute X #380)”

WATCH: What Does the Future Hold? (Gospel Light Minute X #377)

This is the “chief of sinners,” Daniel Whyte III, president of Gospel Light Society International, with the Gospel Light Minute X Podcast #377 titled, “What Does the Future Hold?” I’m here to remind you of what the Bible says, that “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” like you and me.

Most people seem to think that the world is becoming, or will inevitably become, a better place in which to live. It is felt that through education, diplomacy, and scientific advances, most people will live longer, better, and more peaceful lives than any who have lived before. Is this really what’s next?

Not according to Jesus! Not long before He left this world about two thousand years ago He said, “As the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be”. There are two very important things in this statement. First, Jesus reiterates His promise to return to the world (more about this later). Second, when He comes, the condition of the world will be the same as it was in the days of Noah. What is said about the world then? We are told, “The earth was corrupt” and “filled with violence”. The headlines on the evening news and in the world’s newspapers every day show that in spite of our “advanced civilization” and modern technology, these two evils—corruption and violence—are filling the world today. Heaven or Hell: Your Move (Gospel Light Minute X #376)

This is the “chief of sinners,” Daniel Whyte III, president of Gospel Light Society International, with the Gospel Light Minute X Podcast #376 titled, “Heaven or Hell: Your Move.” I’m here to remind you of what the Bible says, that “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” like you and me.

Are you going to Heaven or to Hell? The Bible teaches that many seemingly good people are going to Hell, because the Bible says in Romans 3:23, “…all have sinned…” Ecclesiastes 7:20 says, “For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not.” Sin has a price. The Bible states in Ezekiel 18:4, “…the soul that sinneth, it shall die…” Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages of sin is death…”

You might be wondering what happens to people who die in their sins. The Bible teaches in Hebrews 9:27 that, “…it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:” Revelation 20:15 says, “And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”

Is there any hope? Yes! God sent His only begotten Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, into the world to pay the penalty for your sins. The Bible states in John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Romans 5:8 says, “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Continue reading “Heaven or Hell: Your Move (Gospel Light Minute X #376)”
