Where Do You Think You Are Going? (Gospel Light Minute X #372)

This is the “chief of sinners,” Daniel Whyte III, president of Gospel Light Society International, with the Gospel Light Minute X Podcast #372 titled, “Where Do You Think You Are Going?” I’m here to remind you of what the Bible says, that “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” like you and me.

If you’re like me, there’s nothing better after a busy day than settling into a favorite chair and just sitting still. But did you know that even while sitting still, we are still traveling thousands of miles per hour? Because of the earth’s rotation and its movement within the solar system and galaxy, we are hurtling through space at unimaginable speeds.

It’s amazing that we can be moving at such a high rate of speed and not be aware of it. But, in the same way, there are many people today who are speeding through life unaffected by how quickly they are approaching eternity.

Though we are all traveling through time and space together, there are different destinies in eternity. Where will you spend eternity—in Heaven or in Hell? Just think of being in an everlasting place of perfect happiness, or in a never-ending place of pure woe. You will be in one of these forever. Continue reading “Where Do You Think You Are Going? Whether You Believe It Or Not, There Is A Burning Hell (Gospel Light Minute X #371)

This is the “chief of sinners,” Daniel Whyte III, president of Gospel Light Society International, with the Gospel Light Minute X Podcast #371 titled, “Whether You Believe It Or Not, There Is A Burning Hell.” I’m here to remind you of what the Bible says, that “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” like you and me.

God has prepared a place of eternal punishment for all those who reject Him. It is called hell, and it is a place of everlasting fire. The Bible, God’s Holy Word states in Psalm 9:17, “The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.” John 3:36 says, “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.”

Hell was originally prepared for the devil and his angels. The Bible says in Matthew 25:41, “…Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:” However, if you reject God’s Son, Jesus Christ, and the payment He has made for you, you will spend eternity in hell!

Should you reject God and go to hell, you will never again be bothered by a Christian giving you a Gospel tract. Nor will you have to worry about anyone knocking on your door and inviting you to church again. However, you will remember every sermon you ever heard, every Gospel tract that you rejected, and every kind word from a Christian friend pleading with you to be saved. How to Understand What the Purple Prince Referred to as “This Thing Called Life” (Gospel Light Minute X #368)

This is the “chief of sinners,” Daniel Whyte III, president of Gospel Light Society International, with the Gospel Light Minute X Podcast #368 titled, “How to Understand What the Purple Prince Referred to as ‘This Thing Called Life’.” I’m here to remind you of what the Bible says, that “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” like you and me.

We are all aware of problems in this world. Everyone knows what it is to be weary, to be disappointed, and to struggle. And we have a feeling that we were not meant for this. We are all searching for some solution to the problems of life.

The question is, why are you unhappy? Why do things go wrong? Why is there illness and sickness? Why should there be death? Those are the questions with which the Bible deals.

The Bible talks to you about your unhappiness. Some insist that the Bible, far from being practical, is really very remote from life. But nothing in the world is as practical as the teaching of the Bible.

In order to answer questions about you, the Bible starts in the most extraordinary way:

“In the beginning God…” Continue reading “How to Understand What the Purple Prince Referred to as “This Thing Called Life” (Gospel Light Minute X #368)”

The Only Way to Get to Heaven (Gospel Light Minute X #367)

This is the “chief of sinners,” Daniel Whyte III, president of Gospel Light Society International, with the Gospel Light Minute X Podcast #367 titled, “The Only Way to Get to Heaven.” I’m here to remind you of what the Bible says, that “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” like you and me.

“My father was a wise man and he always explained it like this,” my friend began. I had just finished sharing the way to Heaven with him, but it was clear that the philosophies of his father were deeply embedded in his mind. Unfortunately, those thoughts were not according to divine truth.

He went on: “My father said that going to Heaven is like going to New York: there are many ways to get there, and it doesn’t really matter which one you take. As long as you sincerely follow the way you believe, it will get you there.”

“You are right,” I quickly replied, “about going to New York, but you are completely wrong about going to Heaven. The only map to Heaven, the Bible, clearly presents only one way to get there. Jesus says, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me” It is not true that there are many ways and He is just one of them. Nor is it true that Jesus plus something else is the way to Heaven. Continue reading “The Only Way to Get to Heaven (Gospel Light Minute X #367)”

Do You Need to Obey The Ten Commandments to Go To Heaven? (Gospel Light Minute X #366)

This is the “chief of sinners,” Daniel Whyte III, president of Gospel Light Society International, with the Gospel Light Minute X Podcast #366 titled, “Do You Need to Obey The Ten Commandments to Go To Heaven?” I’m here to remind you of what the Bible says, that “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” like you and me.

There is a lot of confusion about the Ten Commandments given to Moses by God. Many people believe that they must follow the Law so that they can go to Heaven, but the Bible does not say that!

God’s Book, the Bible, states in 1 Timothy 1:8, “But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully;” The Ten Commandments are good if you use them the right way, but some people use them the wrong way. God never intended for us to keep them in an effort to go to Heaven. So why were the Ten Commandments given? Continue reading “Do You Need to Obey The Ten Commandments to Go To Heaven? How to Make the Lord Your Shepherd (Gospel Light Minute X #364)

This is the “chief of sinners,” Daniel Whyte III, president of Gospel Light Society International, with the Gospel Light Minute X Podcast #364 titled, “How to Make the Lord Your Shepherd .” I’m here to remind you of what the Bible says, that “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” like you and me.

The Bible reads in Psalm 23: “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.”

The words of Psalm 23 have brought comfort to millions the world over. They tell of the Lord’s desire to refresh His people and of His faithfulness to guide them safely through all of life’s trials—and even death—to His heavenly home. Which Way Will You Go With Jesus? (Gospel Light Minute X #363)

This is the “chief of sinners,” Daniel Whyte III, president of Gospel Light Society International, with the Gospel Light Minute X Podcast #363 titled, “Which Way Will You Go With Jesus?” I’m here to remind you of what the Bible says, that “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” like you and me.

WHAT DID PEOPLE SAY ABOUT JESUS?

“Kill Him!” said King Herod when he heard that Jesus was born.

“My eyes have seen Your Salvation which You have prepared in the sight of all people,” Simeon said to God when he held the Baby Jesus.

“Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” said the blind man.

“You healed someone on the Sabbath!” accused the religious leaders.

“Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. We believe and know that you are the Christ, the Son of the living God,” said Peter and the disciples.

“Crucify Him!” said the religious leaders.

“Take Him away and do what you want,” said Pilate to the religious leaders.

“Remember me when You come into Your Kingdom,” said the thief who hung on the cross next to Jesus.

“Master!” said Mary on Easter Sunday as Jesus met her by the empty tomb.

“Unless I see the nail marks in His hand, I won’t believe He rose from the dead,” said the disciple Thomas.

“My Lord and my God!” said Thomas, a week later as Jesus stood in front of him. Continue reading “Which Way Will You Go With Jesus? (Gospel Light Minute X #363)”

If No One Else Cares for You, God Does (Gospel Light Minute X #359)

This is the “chief of sinners,” Daniel Whyte III, president of Gospel Light Society International, with the Gospel Light Minute X Podcast #359 titled, “If No One Else Cares for You, God Does.” I’m here to remind you of what the Bible says, that “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” like you and me.

Some time ago someone placed this ad in a Kansas newspaper:

“I will listen to you talk for 30 minutes without comment for $5.00. “

Sounds like a joke, doesn’t it? But the person was serious. Did anybody call? You bet. It wasn’t long before this individual was receiving ten to twenty calls a day. The piercing pain of loneliness was so sharp that some were willing to try anything for a half hour of companionship.  Continue reading “If No One Else Cares for You, God Does (Gospel Light Minute X #359)”
