Tough Love (Gospel Light Minute X #475)

Tough Love (GLMX #475)

This is the “chief of sinners,” Daniel Whyte III, president of Gospel Light Society International, with the Gospel Light Minute X Podcast #475 titled, “Tough Love” I’m here to remind you of what the Bible says, that “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” like you and me.

There are so many people I know and love who are going through life passively, not knowing or even caring about their relationship with God or what happens to them after they die. Jesus said we should love everyone, so what I say I say because I care.

This is not a time for flattery. This is the time for tough love, speaking the truth in love with the other person’s best interest in mind. Here are the facts: according to the Bible there is a situation that exists, and we caused it. When man chose to sin against God, his nature changed, he became a sinner and this sin nature is passed down from generation to generation bringing upon all of humanity death and condemnation (Romans 5:12).

You may feel you’re a decent person and that you sincerely try to live a moral life, but that’s not the issue. The issue is you still have a sin nature, because you were born with it and you can’t change it. We commit sins because it’s our nature to sin; we don’t have the power or the ability not to sin. This is a truth you must believe about yourself if you’re ever going to be reconciled with God.

God is holy, and according to His own law, He must punish anyone who sins. The penalty for our sin is death; first we die physically and then we die a second death which is being eternally separated from God, living in torment. All of us sin against God and God will never allow us to enter heaven as a sinner. You can choose to ignore what I’m telling you, or you could try to explain it away, or you could totally reject this message—that’s your prerogative. But first understand that I’m not expressing my own opinion; I’m telling you what the Word of God teaches. You can choose to reject what I’m telling you, but your rejection cannot change the truth.

What can we do about this situation? We can’t do anything—we are powerless to do anything. There is no religion, no rituals, no Rabbi or Priest, no Mitzvah or penance, no amount good deeds could ever satisfy the demands of a Holy God for our sins. Man, on his own, is eternally lost, without hope and he’s helpless to do anything about it. This is the situation you’re in.

Now that you heard all the bad news, I have some good news for you. The Bible tells us in Romans 2:4 that God’s patience and goodness leads us to repentance. This is my prayer for you: that when you recognize how much God loves you, and the price He paid to save you from your sins, it will cause you to repent. Repentance is necessary. Jesus said Luke 13:3, “…except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish”. Repentance means to change your mind and change your direction. It means you believe what the Bible teaches about your true condition, you believe that you sin against God and in spite of your sin and rebellion God still loves you.

Look at the love God has for you; look at His grace and goodness. Look at what he did to deliver you from your hopeless situation. Have you ever seen a greater demonstration of love than when God Himself became a man in the person of Jesus Christ to suffer and die as your substitute to save you from your sins? What more can God do to show His love for you?

I pray that you will believe this truth and cry out to God to forgive you. Do not procrastinate, because you’re already under the condemnation of God and you don’t want to risk dying in your sin. Trust solely in Jesus Christ, the only savior of sinners. False religion with its false doctrine can only give you false hope. God loves you, and is willing to forgive you. Go to Him in faith, lay down your pride, admit your sins, and ask Him to save you. On the authority of His Word I assure you He will. Jesus said in John 6:37, “…him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.”.

If you do not know the Lord Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour in the free pardon of your sins. Allow me to show you how you can place your faith and trust in Jesus Christ for your souls salvation from the power of sin and from the punishment of sin in that awful place called Hell. Please pray with me what is called the sinner’s prayer: Holy Father God, I acknowledge that I am a sinner and I admit that I have sinned against You and that I have broken Your Ten Commandments. I have lied before. I have stolen things before. I have lusted after people and things before. I have dishonored and disobeyed my parents. I have taken Your holy Name in vain. For Jesus Christ’s sake, please have mercy and grace upon my soul and forgive me of all of my sins, my failures, and my faults. As I now believe in Your Holy Son the Lord Jesus Christ. I believe that He suffered, bled, and died on the cross for my sins, was buried and rose again. Lord Jesus, please come into my heart and save my soul and change my life. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit and help me to repent of my sins past. Help me to turn from my old, evil life and follow You in the new life. For it is in Your Name I pray. Amen.
