This is the “chief of sinners,” Daniel Whyte III, president of Gospel Light Society International, with the Gospel Light Minute X Podcast #375 titled, “3 Things You Must Know to Be Saved From Hell and Saved to Heaven” I’m here to remind you of what the Bible says, that “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” like you and me.
There are only three things that you need to know in order to be saved. You do not have to know theology or the doctrines of the church. But there are THREE THINGS THAT YOU MUST KNOW.
- FIRST, you must know that you are a sinner and that you are lost. You will not need a doctor unless you know you are sick. You will not need a life guard unless you know you are drowning. You will not need to be found unless you know you are lost. You will not realize your need of a Saviour unless you know you are a sinner. Now God says in His Book, the Holy Bible, “All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on Him the iniquity of us all.” The Bible says in Romans 3:23, “…All have sinned…”. Hence you are a sinner. Do you know it? Will you believe what God says about you?
- SECOND, you must know that you cannot save yourself. “Not by works of righteousness which we have done…,” is what God says. Not of works. You cannot save yourself by being baptized or confirmed nor by joining a church and becoming religious. You cannot save yourself by living a good life, by obeying the golden rule or keeping the commandments. Your own works will never save you. Self-salvation is impossible. You cannot save yourself. Do you know that? Will you believe what God says?
- THIRD, you must know that Jesus Christ, and Jesus Christ alone, can save you. No one else can. “…thou shalt call his name Jesus: for He shall save…,” is what God says. The Bible says in Acts 4:12, “Neither is there salvation in any other…” So, then, Mohammed cannot save you, neither can Confucious nor Buddha. Religion cannot save you — Catholic, Protestant, or Greek Orthodox. Only a Person can save. Systems and doctrines, rites and ceremonies, pilgrimages and deeds of merit are inadequate. But, praise God, Jesus Christ, the living resurrected Christ, God’s Son, can save you. Do you know it? Will you believe it?
Then, my friend all you have to do, if you know these three things, is to receive Jesus Christ as your own personal Saviour. Open your heart to Him now and invite Him in. God says: “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:” You are a sinner, you cannot save yourself, Jesus Christ can save you. Oh, then, receive Him and receive Him NOW!
Romans 10:9 says, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
If you are willing to trust Jesus Christ with all of your heart so you can go to Heaven, please pray with me what is called the sinner’s prayer: Holy Father God, I acknowledge that I am a sinner and I admit that I have sinned against You and that I have broken Your Ten Commandments. I have lied before. I have stolen things before. I have lusted after people and things before. I have dishonored and disobeyed my parents. I have taken Your holy Name in vain. For Jesus Christ’s sake, please have mercy and grace upon my soul and forgive me of all of my sins, my failures, and my faults. As I now believe in Your Holy Son the Lord Jesus Christ. I believe that He suffered, bled, and died on the cross for my sins, was buried and rose again. Lord Jesus, please come into my heart and save my soul and change my life. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit and help me to repent of my sins past. Help me to turn from my old, evil life and follow You in the new life. For it is in Your Name I pray. Amen.
