GLMX #268: All Lives Matter to God

This past week has been one of the most distressing weeks in America’s recent history. Again, three young black men — Alton Sterling, Philando Castile, and Delrawn Small — were shot dead by police under circumstances that many believe did not have to end in a fatality.

And then, on Friday, five white police officers in Dallas, TX — Lorne Ahrens, Michael Smith, Michael Krol, Patrick Zamarripa, Brent Thompson — were gunned down by a black man as they were overseeing a peaceful demonstration in the city.

Once again, the nation is confronted by crucial questions as many engage in soul-searching regarding how we got to this place in America. Once again, slogans have been thrown about — “black lives matter”, “all lives matter”, “blue lives matter,” etc. Racial conflict, and its sometimes deadly consequences, has unfortunately led to increased division in our country. This is evident even in the belief of some that one of the aforementioned slogans should be used to the exclusion of all others.

Whatever position you take on issues of race, police brutality, and injustice in this country, I can tell you without a doubt that all lives matter to God. You may not feel like your life or the lives of a certain group of people matter to the government or to society at large, but I can say without hesitation that every life matters to God. In God’s eyes, every person is deserving of being treated with respect, honor, fairness, and dignity because every human being is made in God’s image. Most importantly, every life counts to God because every life represents a soul worth saving from sin and the punishment of sin.

John 3:16-17 says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” Did you notice how the word “world” is used three times in these two verses? That word refers to everybody in the world — all lives. God sent Jesus to save all lives. “Whosoever” is another great word; it means anybody at anytime. If you are alive today, you are a part of the world and a part of whosoever. God cares about all people and He cares about you.

No matter your race, ethnicity, or socio-economic background, God cares about you and wants to save you. The Apostle John wrote that, through the shed blood of Jesus Christ, people “out of every kindred, and tongue, and nation” are being redeemed and reconciled to God. In one of his visions, he saw an “angel flying in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people…”

God has clearly indicated in His Word that all lives matter to Him.

Your life matters to Him. He doesn’t want you to live without knowing Him as your Heavenly Father. And He doesn’t want you to die without making sure that you will be with Him in Heaven for eternity. You can get to know Him only by accepting Jesus Christ — the Way, the Truth, and the Life — as your Lord and Savior.

If you do not know the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior, here is how you can accept Him into your heart today.

First, accept the fact that you are a sinner, and that you have broken God’s law. The Bible says in Romans 3:23: “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”

Second, accept the fact that there is a penalty for sin. The Bible states in Romans 6:23: “For the wages of sin is death…”

Third, accept the fact that you are on the road to hell. Jesus Christ said in Matthew 10:28: “And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” Also, the Bible states in Revelation 21:8: “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”

Now that is bad news, but here’s the good news. Jesus Christ said in John 3:16: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Just believe in your heart that Jesus Christ died for your sins, was buried, and rose from the dead by the power of God for you so that you can live eternally with Him. Pray and ask Him to come into your heart today, and He will.

Romans 10:9 & 13 says, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved… For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

If you believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins, was buried, and rose from the dead, and you want to trust Him for your salvation today, please pray with me this simple prayer: Holy Father God, I realize that I am a sinner and that I have done some bad things in my life. I am sorry for my sins, and today I choose to turn from my sins. For Jesus Christ sake, please forgive me of my sins. I believe with all of my heart that Jesus Christ died for me, was buried, and rose again. I trust Jesus Christ as my Savior and I choose to follow Him as Lord from this day forward. Lord Jesus, please come into my heart and save my soul and change my life today. Amen.

If you just trusted Jesus Christ as your Saviour, and you prayed that prayer and meant it from your heart, I declare to you that based upon the Word of God, you are now saved from Hell and you are on your way to Heaven. Welcome to the family of God! Congratulations on doing the most important thing in life and that is receiving Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour.
