TEXT: Revelation 21:1-3: “And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.”

During our last lesson, we covered the time when Jesus Christ will return to Earth as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Jesus will sit on the throne of David in Jerusalem for 1,000 years. At the end of the Millennial Kingdom, Satan will attempt a final attack against God and God’s people. Satan and all of those who followed him will be defeated, and all believers will be taken to Heaven to be with God forever.

Have you ever wondered what Heaven is like? Let us consider three things about Heaven:

1. Heaven is a city of incredible beauty. The Apostle John said he “saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of Heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.” Heaven is more beautiful a place than we can ever imagine. The Bible emphasizes this beauty by describing it as a bride adorned for her husband.

2. Heaven is a city of incredible abundance. Many people have wondered about the size of this city. The Bible tells us that it is a cube and that it is approximately 1,500 miles in each direction. Millions and millions of people will be there, yet no one will ever be hungry or lack anything.

3. Heaven is a city of incredible happiness. Revelation 21:4 says, “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.”
